Materials Design (codenamed Quantum Paper) is a design terminology developed in 2014 by Google. Expanding after the "credit card" motifs that debuted in Google Now, Materials Design makes more liberal use of grid-based layouts, responsive transitions and animations, padding, and depth effects such as lighting and shadows.On June 25 google announced Materials Design, 2014, at the 2014 Google I/O conference.Custom made Mat?as Duarte explained that, "unlike real paper, our digital material can intelligently increase and reform. Material has physical surfaces and edges. Shadows and seams provide meaning in what you can touch. " Google says that their new design dialect is dependant on ink and paper.Materials Design can be used in API Level 21 and newer via the v7 appcompat catalogue, which is employed on all Android devices made after 2009 virtually. Material Design will steadily be extended throughout Google's array of web and mobile products, providing a constant experience across all applications and platforms.
