Material Design (codenamed Quantum Paper) is a design words developed in 2014 by Yahoo. Expanding after the "greeting card" motifs that debuted in Google Now, Material Design makes more liberal use of grid-based designs, responsive animations and transitions, padding, and depth results such as lighting and shadows.On June 25 google released Material Design, 2014, at the 2014 Yahoo I/O conference.Developer Mat?as Duarte described that, "unlike real paper, our digital materials can intelligently broaden and reform. Material has physical edges and areas. Shadows and seams provide indicating in what you can touch. " Google states that their new design language is dependant on paper and ink.Material Design can be used in API Level 21 and newer via the v7 appcompat library, which is utilized on virtually all Android devices produced after 2009. Material Design will slowly but surely be extended throughout Google's selection of web and mobile products, providing a consistent experience across all platforms and applications. Google in addition has released application programming interfaces (APIs) for third-party developers to include the look language into their applicationsBy 2015 most of Google's mobile applications for Google android had applied the new design dialect, including Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive, Google Docs, Slides and sheets, Yahoo Maps, Inbox, all the Google Play-branded applications, and to an inferior scope the Chrome internet browser and Google Keep. The desktop web-interfaces of Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Inbox have incorporated it as well.The canonical implementation of Material Design for web request user interfaces is called Polymer. It contains the Polymer catalogue, a shim that delivers an internet Components API for browsers that not implement the typical natively, and an elements catalog, including the "paper elements collection" that has visual components of the Materials Design.
