Material DesignMaterial Design (codenamed Quantum Paper) is a design vocabulary developed in 2014 by Yahoo. Expanding after the "credit card" motifs that debuted in Yahoo Now, Material Design makes more liberal use of grid-based designs, responsive animations and transitions, padding, and depth results such as shadows and lighting.On June 25 google declared Material Design, 2014, at the 2014 Yahoo I/O conference.Developer Mat?as Duarte described that, "unlike real newspaper, our digital material can develop and reform intelligently. Material has physical surfaces and edges. Shadows and seams provide indicating in what you can touch. " Google states that their new design language is dependant on paper and ink.Material Design can be utilized in API Level 21 and newer via the v7 appcompat collection, which is employed on all Android devices made after 2009 virtually. Material Design will steadily be extended throughout Google's array of web and mobile products, providing a consistent experience across all platforms and applications. Google in addition has released application programming interfaces (APIs) for third-party developers to incorporate the design language to their applicationsBy 2015 most of Google's mobile applications for Android os had applied the new design language, including Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive, Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, Yahoo Maps, Inbox, all of the Google Play-branded applications, also to an inferior extent the Stainless Yahoo and internet browser Keep. It contains the Polymer collection, a shim that delivers a Web Components API for browsers that do not implement the standard natively, and an elements catalog, like the "paper elements collection" that features visual components of the Material Design.
