Material Design (codenamed Quantum Newspaper) is a design terms developed in 2014 by Google. Expanding upon the "greeting card" motifs that debuted in Yahoo Now, Materials Design makes more liberal use of grid-based layouts, responsive animations and transitions, padding, and depth results such as light and shadows.On June 25 google declared Material Design, 2014, at the 2014 Yahoo I/O conference.Creator Mat?as Duarte described that, "unlike real paper, our digital material can intelligently extend and reform. Material has physical surfaces and edges. Seams and shadows provide meaning about what you can touch. " Google says that their new design dialect is dependant on printer ink and newspaper.Materials Design can be utilized in API Level 21 and newer via the v7 appcompat library, which is used on all Android devices manufactured after 2009 virtually. Material Design will little by little be extended throughout Google's selection of web and mobile products, providing a steady experience across all applications and platforms. Google has also released application programming interfaces (APIs) for third-party developers to incorporate the look language into their applicationsAs of 2015 the majority of Google's mobile applications for Android had applied the new design terminology, including Gmail, YouTube, Yahoo Drive, Yahoo Docs, Slides and sheets, Yahoo Maps, Inbox, all of the Google Play-branded applications, and to an inferior level the Chrome internet browser and Google Keep. The desktop web-interfaces of Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Inbox have incorporated it as well.The canonical implementation of Materials Design for web program user interfaces is called Polymer. It consists of the Polymer library, a shim that delivers an online Components API for web browsers that do not implement the typical natively, and an elements catalog, including the "paper elements collection" that features visual elements of the Materials Design.
