Material Design (codenamed Quantum Paper) is a design dialect developed in 2014 by Google. Expanding upon the "cards" motifs that debuted in Google Now, Materials Design makes more liberal use of grid-based layouts, responsive transitions and animations, padding, and depth effects such as shadows and light.On June 25 google released Material Design, 2014, at the 2014 Google I/O conference.Designer Mat?as Duarte discussed that, "unlike real newspaper, our digital materials can increase and reform intelligently. Materials has physical sides and areas. Shadows and seams provide indicating about what you can touch. " Google state governments that their new design terminology is based on ink and paper.Material Design can be used in API Level 21 and newer via the v7 appcompat library, which can be used on practically all Android devices manufactured after 2009. Material Design will slowly but surely be extended throughout Google's array of web and mobile products, providing a regular experience across all platforms and applications. Google has also released application programming interfaces (APIs) for third-party developers to include the design language into their applicationsBy 2015 most of Google's mobile applications for Google android experienced applied the new design language, including Gmail, YouTube, Yahoo Drive, Google Docs, Slides and sheets, Yahoo Maps, Inbox, all of the Google Play-branded applications, and to an inferior amount the Stainless internet browser and Yahoo Keep. The desktop web-interfaces of Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Inbox and slides have designed it as well.The canonical execution of Materials Design for web request user interfaces is called Polymer.
